Mark draws attention to his beard, puns, and middle school at every turn. Unlike Mark, Nick likes things that are fun. We forgot to mention it last time, but our music is provided by Nixon Nights. Also, our email address is aldmachinereadable@gmail.com. You should email us! We can talk about things!

Huzzah – shoutouts to the Dr. and IT Crowd.
ReplyDeleteCultural Fetishization – stealing that.
Hearing you guys debate the merits of the I Ching as a storytelling device was super fun.
I’m so sad that you didn’t get to see Men in Black in middle school, Mark.
Hitchhiker’s Guide – smart selection for intro to sci-fi.
My personal Sci-Fi pick for getting people into the genre – Rendezvous With Rama, written expertly by Sir Arthur C. Clarke.
Pick for what people should never read – The other three Rama Series books written crappily by hack Gentry Lee.
Rendezvous With Rama is definitely a good read, although I wonder how it would land on someone who's not interested in exploring the idiosyncracies of a fictional spaceship.
